The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.
No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
The receiver missed the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals hurt. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, he concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
