Wythenshawe Vets Over 35s are situated in south Manchester and play in the Cheshire-based Veterans League Top Division.

The lineup this campaign boasts 9 former Premier League footballers, with a combined 1,801 elite games.

The high-profile squad also contains over 220 Premier League scores and 325 international appearances.

The squad include one forward, who netted thirty-seven goals in over 100 games for his former club after moving to them for nine million pounds from Bundesliga side SC Freiburg in 2012.

Cisse made his first appearance for the team in their most recent home match against reigning title holders their rivals and netted all six goals in a six-two win - featuring a half-hour first-half triple.

Wythenshawe's squad for this season also includes former pros such as England and Anfield striker Emile Heskey, Hull and Burnley FC midfielder George Boyd, Toffees striker Oumar Niasse, Wigan full-back Maynor Figueroa, Manchester City pair Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha and Premier League title victors Joleon Lescott and Danny Drinkwater.

Famous Figures and Global Stars

Stephen Ireland started turning out for the side during pre-season this season through close friend and current team player Blake Norton, and the former Republic of Ireland midfielder then invited additional former professionals, who all compete in a midweek nine-a-side match, to join in.

Ex- Senegalese forward Oumar Niasse, who scored twelve scores in sixty-five Premier League games for Everton and even now goes to their matches at Goodison Park, also made his first appearance against Collegiate OB - who are located in Liverpool and use an Blue training kit as their strip.

"It's a bit unusual but then, I enjoy sprinting and just move forward - I'm not defending that much," he added.

"I warn my defender 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to continue attacking.

"That movement is what I'm looking for. It's enjoyable."

Unreal Experience

Along with Cisse's six scores on debut, Ireland has netted eight in three games for the side, while George Boyd scored five on his debut appearance and Lescott, a centre-half by position, scored a triple in one match up front.

The team are top of the Top Division with 3 victories from three and a GD of +19.

Paul Barrow, 38, who features on the flank for Collegiate OB, faced ex- Latics defender Maynor Figueroa on the weekend - and had to explain his young son who Emile Heskey was.

Figueroa has appeared at two global tournaments for Honduras, in as well as featuring in more than two hundred Premier League games.

"The news was spreading like wildfire they had these former top-flight players," said Barrow.

"I think I was a little awestruck playing against Figueroa to be honest.

"Also Emile [Heskey] got on and he's got over 60 England appearances.

"Our side held our own for a good 20 mins but then we had a player sent off and it was tough.

"We literally have not ceased chatting about it - I was calling my mother and brother on the journey home.

"The opponents were all really nice, shaking our hands after the match - it was like playing a bunch of regular fellas.

"Now we can't wait for the return match."
