Palestinian-American Teenager Liberated Following Nine-Month Period in Israel's Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian youth after completing a nine-month period in Israel's custody absent formal charges has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested last February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.

American diplomatic officials applauded the teenager's freedom.

Mohammed, now 16, was taken to hospital right after being freed, relatives told the media.

Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson expressed the family's "immense relief".

The uncle, Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"At this moment, we're concentrating on providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention necessary for his recovery after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and inhumane conditions for months."

The state department announced ongoing to offer diplomatic assistance to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities considers paramount to the protection and welfare of American nationals"," it added.

A group of American legislators submitted a formal letter to diplomatic officials and President Donald Trump, urging greater action to release him.

Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business from Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.

He had not seen or communicated with his son since February, and only heard about his son's condition through judicial records.

Mohammed was held absent formal charges in Ofer prison on the West Bank.

It is also home to grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced regarding severe security violations and murder.

Approximately 350 Palestinian child security detainees being held in Israeli jails, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Numerous remain uncharged and human rights groups, and international organizations, report instances of physical abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, Mr Kadur said they would maintain their efforts seeking justice for their relative their cousin Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen according to health authorities succumbed to assault by radical settlers during a confrontation last July.

Initially, the Israeli military said authorities were looking into reports a Palestinian civilian was deceased.

Mohammed and Sayfollah had worked together in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.

No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We anticipate US authorities to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
